As a youth justice worker, you’ll need to demonstrate:
- understanding, patience and resilience
- quick and effective decision making
- an ability to connect with people from all backgrounds
- a willingness to work as part of a team and support your fellow youth custody workers
- that you can be an authority figure as well as a mentor

We’re looking for people who are able to understand and connect with children and young people who may have committed serious crimes, grown up in difficult settings or have mental health concerns. Do you have a passion to care for and about children, young people and their families?
Qualifications
You do not need qualifications to become a youth justice worker. Personal qualities are more important.
