Six miles outside the market town of Evesham in Worcestershire, HMP Long Lartin is a high security prison. With a capacity of up to 609, it accommodates both men who have been sentenced and those who are on remand awaiting trial.
With a focus on supporting men to make positive changes to lead law abiding lives in custody and after their release, HMP Long Lartin provides a range of educational, vocational training and work opportunities.
The education department offers a wide range of learning opportunities, from basic skills to Open University courses.
With the aim of enhancing prisoners’ chances of employment upon release from custody, accredited vocational training is available in woodcraft, bricklaying, barbering, industrial cleaning, laundry and painting and decorating.
Contract work for commercial companies is also available in onsite plumbing and recycling industrial workshops.
